She Said Yes Boutique

Hi. My name is Nanette Garver. I am the owner of She Said Yes Boutique. I am the mother of 4 children and a former teacher. I started the store eight years ago out of my home. I saw a need for people in Winchester to buy inexpensive dresses for events that they were going to, and let's face it, only wear once. I asked around to my friends and they had several dresses in their closet that they no longer wanted, and didn't know what to do with. I thought, what if we had a consignment store where people could wear a dress one time,  bring it in, clean it and we would resell it for them. It seemed like a win for consignors and customers. Everyone seemed to like the idea, so I started in my house and just made a room where friends of friends of friends could come, and the girls could try on the dresses. It grew quickly, and suddenly people were asking about wedding dresses. The idea took off and I started looking for a retail space. I found a space down on South Loudoun Street and was there for six years. It grew and became successful. With all the mall stores going out of business, I needed to find a way to find brand new dresses to sell as well.  I started wondering what bridal stores do with their samples when they get next season's dresses in. I emailed, visited, called, texted and found 4 bridal shops that would consign their previous samples. It worked! We could offer brides brand new dresses at a much lower price! We also found wholesale companies that would sell us closeout dresses! It grew and after six years, we outgrew our store on South Loudoun. Two years ago, We opened the store on Weems Lane, and it has been growing steadily. Being a middle school teacher in my previous life,  I wanted to make girls feel good about themselves. Women are constantly shown through tv and social media what a woman "should" look like. I wanted them to feel beautiful whether they are  13, 45 or 70. I also wanted girls of all sizes and shapes to feel and look beautiful! We work hard everyday to achieve that goal, and I'm proud of myself and my staff for making girls/women's dreams come true!!!!
